Brahms German Requiem and Vaughan Williams Five Mystical Songs Saturday 13th April in Brentwood Cathedral.
The concert was a joint effort with Brentwood Choral Society and Ingatestone Choral Society coming together to sing two marvellous contrasting pieces of music, the Vaughan Williams quite calm and pastoral - Brahms very lively and strenuous. The pieces were accompanied by an excellent six piece ensemble plus pianoforte/organ with three talented soloists all brought together by our conductor Harry Bradford, a brilliant combination and much appreciated by an enthusiastic audience.
Saturday 29th JUNE 2019 was our Music on a Summers day Concert. A completely different programme to our normal music - Bob Chilcott’s Little Jazz Mass and George Shearing Songs and Sonnets with accompaniment by a Jazz Trio, very well received by our audience. To complete the afternoon we all had afternoon tea scones, jam, cream with china teapots and crockery, very traditional English tea party!A good time was had by all and a fitting end to the singing season. We start again on 11th September 2019, preparing for our winter concert - selections from Handel’s Messiah plus readings and carols for audience. COME AND JOIN US, YOU WILL BE MADE MOST WELCOME.
